But when the Winchesters' dad goes missing, both Dean and Sam know what they have to do--leading to some epic cross-country trips as the brothers try to find their father. The third season of the show follows up after the brothers finally destroy the demon that possessed their mother. Unfortunately, completing this quest had some devastating consequences: it killed Sam and brought a horde of demons to Earth.
