Synopsis
A young boy is awoken in the night by his mother's screams when his father, Ivan (Laurence Cote), is brought home dead from a botched car theft. Thus begins this multilayered story of two brothers: Ivan, a criminal, and Alex, a cop. The narrative progresses forward and backward as flashbacks reveal Alex's estranged relationships with his criminal family and the young thief, Juliette, who brought them together again. Juliette acts as a catalyst, sparking an odd love triangle between herself, Alex, and a female philosophy professor, Marie. As LES VOLEURS mounts to its climax, Alex's sexual and emotional involvement with Juliette complicates his investigations into his brother's murder.
