Synopsis
The vast majority of educated individuals in the western world regard vampires as fictional entities, but is it possible that this perception is a fallacy? Could it be true that the gruesome, blood-sucking "undead" may actually walk among ordinary, unsuspecting homo sapiens? This program from the National Geographic EXPLORER series investigates that very possibility. It explores such subjects as a present-day individual who vehemently insists that he is a vampire, and a bishop who claims that he has exorcised demons and vampires; the program also draws from commentary by experts in areas such as anthropology, folklore and forensics. As an added bonus, the program features a segment on the subject of "Vampire Forensics."
